About the ABC Education Foundation
The ABC Education Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded to support the district’s goal of raising student achievement and overall educational experience. The ABC Education Foundation provides financial support and enrichment programs for ABCUSD students through fundraising efforts and close partnership with our local community. Founded in 2011 by committed educators and staff, the ABC Education Foundation was given approval on June 16, 2011 as a 501 (c) (3), which gives the district exempt status from Federal income tax of the Internal Revenue Code. The Foundation was formed to support student success by funding programs that do not receive adequate funding. ABC teachers are creative and passionate about teaching and introducing their students to new and interesting opportunities. Funds from our foundation allow teachers to go above and beyond and in turn allow our students to become passionate about learning and to
thrive in school.
ABCUSD serves thirty schools, with over 18,000 (TK-12) students from the cities of Artesia, Cerritos, Hawaiian Gardens, Lakewood, and parts of Norwalk, Long Beach, La Palma, and Cypress. ABC is considered by the U.S. Census survey as one of the most ethnically and linguistically diverse communities in the United States.
The ABC Education Foundation is committed to the nurturing and development of every student that attends the ABCUSD. Some of our annual activities include: School Essentials for Education Drive (SEED) for financially disadvantaged students, Pathways to Success CTE Scholarships, and our annual mini-grant program where we give back the funds we've raised to fund important programs at schools throughout the ABC Unified School District - STEM programs, Arts programs, wellness events, and even much needed equipment for our schools.
